Description
Inability of blood to adequately clot, due to a failure in one of the essential clotting agents on the blood (Factor VIII or Factor IX). If there are deficiencies in, or abnormal levels of these proteins, then bleeding into joints, muscles and tissues can occur. A hereditary disease occurring almost exclusively in males, and about 1 in 6,500 male Australians are affected.
