Description
Depression following childbirth. Psychological distress following childbirth (so-called "baby blues") is experienced by about 80% of all mothers, but in some women, depression associated with this distress becomes severe and disruptive enough to require professional intervention. Estimates indicate about 15-20% of all childbearing Australian women suffer from post-natal depression.
