Description
Drug abuse is a condition in which people cannot control their drug use, and/or
their drug use impairs their personal, social or occupational functioning for at least one
month. Serious physical effects on liver which metabolises all chemical agents entering
the body. Other health effects depend on the nature of the drug consumed, and route of
administration. Drug dependence is a condition which includes
drug tolerance (having to increase the amount consumed to get the same effects) or
withdrawal (presence of physical symptoms when the drug is discontinued). Approximately
Australians are affected. |
