Description
Condition in which there is rapid and uncontrolled proliferation of cells on body
organs. Commonly affecting lungs, bowel and cervix. Recognised triggers for cancer
include: tobacco smoking, excessive alcohol use, reproductive and sexual disease history,
occupational and environmental factors. The most common cancer overall, is non-melanocytic
skin cancer - Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world, and the death
rate among males is rising.
